Coastal KZN TVET College Signs The MOU With Ithala Bank

The Hon. Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Mr Mduduzi Manana launched and declared 2014-2024 as the “Decade of the Artisan”.  THEME: It’s cool to be an artisan.

The Decade of the Artisan campaign seeks to promote artisanship as a career of choice to South Africa’s youth within the post school education and training system as well as to highlight skills development opportunities that are available.

Mr M Manana further designated, between 2014 and 2024, the month of August as the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College month. The first week of August shall be an “Open Week” whereby all Public TVET Colleges open doors to high school learners and out of school youth to promote artisan training programmes and to entice learners on artisanship and expose them to activities that take place in engineering workshops.

Coastal KZN TVET College successfully held its first TVET open week at Swinton and Appelsbosch Campuses. The main focus was on Artisanship. Participants were sensitised on the following:

  • What is an artisan
  • How to become an artisan
